Based on the Indel Midspan unit the MPOE-8, which can be expanded up to 64 modules giving 512 ports. This unit is hot swappable and is powered by an Indel 48V Power supply. These units can be remotely controlled as well as locally.
The racks, midspans and battery/rectifier units are readily expandable and give a stable power quality in the range of 44 to 52V. Battery technology choice is up to the customer. 48V can be supplied to other equipment directly such as switches, radios, servers and routers.
The unit can supply 110VAC by using another inverter from the same PoE unit.
Indel claim that using PoE is much more efficient than regular UPS systems as there arelesss losses with this technology.
The control and monitoring of each port can be carried out remotely via TCP IP, local alarms are monitored by a controller or via Software.
Indel see application in many sectors including:
IP (CFTV) cameras, VoIP telephony, Wi-Fi access points, Access point control units, Emergency lighting units, Fire alarms, 100% reliable and remote control in fact any load that could operate with 15.4 Watts @ 48V within a distance of 95M from the POE source and of course the same cable will bring DATA back to this machine.
Indel also expect to be producing PoE Plus product when the standard is confirmed next year.
